ParticipantMy machine is taking forever to fill. Eventually faults out with beeps and the hot and cold leds both on. In diagnostic mode I get 11010110 = 214 (reading from left to right i.e. MSB on left LSB on right)
What is the problem?
Thanks in advance.July 12, 2007 at 11:18 pm #220844Penguin45

We run out of codes at 192, and I’ve never seen that one………
Valve(s) not behaving properly or the machine syphoning the water through would be my initial thought.

Thank you. I was mostly looking for permission to get a new solenoid valve set.
With the diagnostic though i wonder if this is working right.
Phase 1 + 2 machines
Models: GW500, 600, 700. MW050, 060, 650, 070. GW501, 601, 701. MW 051, 061, 071, LW015.Hold “Wash Temp Down”, then press “Power”. Wait for the two short “beeps”, then press “Advance” once only. Toggle the “Spin” buttons until “Hold” and “Slow Spin” lamps are lit.
If there is a fault, it will now be displayed on the wash lamps across the top of the control panel.
I do the above but when the machine stops and beeps I hold “wash temp”down press power, while still pressing temp down but the machine turns off at this point. Does this mean I have lost the fault? I then turn it on by holding down the wash temp down buttton and power. it turns on with no beeps (you said to wait for two) I then push advance once and toggle the spin as per your instructions and 214 is what I get. But the machine did not beep twice, and turns off, when I push power while holding the wash temp down.
Whew! have i done something wrong?

I’ve had a bit of a think about this, and I’m sorry, I haven’t a clue what’s going on…….. Did you check for the issues mentioned above?
With a bit of luck BSP or QAS will pick up on this; they are far more experienced than I am with these machines.

Luck of the draw, really – mine doesn’t beep either when it goes into diagnostics.
Sounds like one of your questions is about it turning off when you try to go into diagnostics – this will happen if it is currently turned on when you try the button combination to g into diags.
Turn it off at the wall, leave it for a bit, turn it back on at the wall, once it’s run through its’ POST, hold down temp down and press power.

To enter diagnostics
Power off at console
Hold Down WASH TEMPDOWN Then press POWER
Two Beeps LET GO of Wash temp power buttons
Then press Advance Once then spin buttons etc
The machine will exit diag mode if you press power at any time after the initial stage .
There is no Code 214
Fault Code will be displayed if within last 8 cycles
IF water filling slowly more than likely water valve but check hose filters as Tap End
Water valve Test
Power off at console
Hold Down WASH TEMPDOWN Then press POWER
Press Water temp down to Activate Cold valve
Press Water temp up to Activate HotJuly 17, 2007 at 6:53 am #220849sirius0

Thank you all for your help! I tried another solenoid set that a friend had lying around and it works.
I never get those two beeps……..
I do get the fast and hold light on though. Thank you for the tip on manually forcing each solenoid too.I became pretty convinced that it was the solenoids once I measured 12v flat or constant; but had the slowest dribble going.
It is good to know that the computer stores the fault during power down, thanks.
I guess now I have to pay back and help a few others!I might try tricking the OOB switch and see how my machine’s diagnostics handles this.
