ParticipantCan anyone help with this problem? I have a F & P GW709, when it fills for the first time it stops after a while and flashes the cold temp light. I have to turn it off and on to keep filling the machine. After 3 or 4 stops it eventually fills, washes and rinses like normal. The diagnostics code is
off off on on on on on off which I think is fault code 62. I have changed the motor controller board, no different. The water solenoids check out fine.August 21, 2006 at 11:38 pm #185948Penguin45

62 is the drain pump drawing excess current – seems a bit unlikely for what is coming up as a user warning for no cold fill in time allowed. So…… Cold valve is a proportional type, they do fail as they get older and a straight resistance check through the coil (64ohms) won’t reveal it. Often, even the full 24v won’t fully open the valve.
Can’t tell you much more based on the info so far………

I beleive I have two problems with the machine. 3 or 4 times it has intermittantly stopped stopped while draining, beeping every second or so and the lamps indicate code 62 hence the drain problem. 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time it drains fine.
When filling with the temp on hot, the machine will fill for approx 70 sec then the the hot water valve shuts off and it continues filling for 2-3 minutes with cold water untill it beeps and the cold temp lamp flashes. If I push start it continues to fill with cold water however if I change the temp down one to to hot/warm while its filling, it starts taking in warm water again. If I start a wash on cold water, it fills to 1/3 to 1/2 full (approx 2-3 min) and beeps with the cold temp lamp flashing. Is it a valve problem or possible something else like the thermistor? What tests can I do? Valves test 64ohms and appears good flow through them.August 23, 2006 at 9:11 pm #185950Penguin45

Drop the pump for a start, check for partial blockages – if the pump is running slow, it’ll get hot and shut down.
Code 10 would be a thermistor fault, so unlikely. Stupid question time – the hoses are on the right way round?
I’m still leaning toward the cold valve as prime suspect. With a bit of luck Bigsmokepiker might pick this up later on and be able to add more.
