My fridge/freezer is probably about 12 years old. The drain in the fridge iced up so I cleared it out but it brought to my attention that the heater is de-icing the evaporator coil whenever the compressor is not running. I figured the defrost timer was faulty so I replaced it but it hasn’t fixed the problem. Can anyone enlighten me on what the problem may be?
