    Hi again guys

I recently had an issue where this dishwasher (ADG 7550) was causing the ELCB to trip. Opened the bottom of the machine and the waste hose had burst inside the machine, so I got a replacement hose, put it back together and now I am getting F9 error.

Turns out this is water inlet valve.
Drain pump runs for 30 seconds, then 20 seconds off and keeps repeating this over and over.

So, it seems the water inlet valve is constantly open. Had a look around and the terminal connector on the WI is totally destroyed. Both terminals welded together and lots of corrosion, so I took the plastic connector off and tried very carefully putting the metal connectors on to the valve but stuck something between them to insulate.

    Same issue…Water constantly filling

I plan to have a look at this again tomorrow and I am just wondering what is the most likely issue here

Would it be mechanically stuck open?
Would it be failed electrically and also stuck open
Or, would it be the PCB is sending a constant signal to it?

I would appreciate any tips to help me troubleshoot with a multimeter.

Continuity across the valve terminals (would that mean the valve is ok?)
No continuity across valve terminals (would this mean valve is gone and needs replacing?)
Voltage reading on the 2 blue wires? Should I get 220/240v between the 2 of these only for a short time and then voltage drops to zero?

Sorry if this is long and rambling, but trying to describe accurately and hopefully diagnose it quickly without too much messing about

    Many Thanks

With respect I would suggest you contact a local independent repairer and have them take a look. In order to give technical assistance it is important for us to realise the postee has a fair degree of electric knowledge. And from your questioning it appears there is just reason to doubt your ability.

We DO NOT CONDONE live electrical testing…! Messing around inside an appliance with a multimeter is dangerous in the extreme, especially so when you don’t know what you are doing..!
