Yeah I agree Ally, but my thoughts are… Get an add out, get people to ‘Like’ it (Which adds it to their profile), get a page up, again, as people ‘Like’ it, it gets added to their profile, and all this activity gets broadcasted to their friends too… So, what you have is in theory, some Facebook member you’ve never known, has ‘Liked’ your page because her / his friend did. If their appliance ever breaks, they MIGHT think about ‘That’ page on Facebook and refer back to it…
It’s like a friend recommendation if you follow me?
I don’t think it’ll get me a repair tomorrow, but longer term, I think it might pay off… But I might be wrong, so don’t shoot me if so!

+400 Million people worldwide have active profiles, 15 Million ‘Active’ Profiles in the UK, each of which have an ‘average’ of 130 friends, must be worth a punt surely!

Well they’re not gonna tell you it’s rubbish are they? 😉
TBH, I dunno about Facebook.
I know it’s the fad of the moment but I just can’t see how it’s viable in the longer term or how they will make money at it. And, they haven’t yet.
Meanwhile, there are others out there ready to steal the Facebook crown, not least of which are rumours of Google launching an offensive.
And that’s the trouble with fads and, the internet a lot of the time, what’s hot today isn’t tomorrow.
On the upside Facebook does seem to have gotten pretty slick at targeted ads but then, so have others. Google is no slouch with mobile and web, Apple is entering the fray with iAds on mobile and Bing is coming along nicely, there’s Yahoo as well. Lots of places to spend your cash. Which one is right, I really don’t know as I’ve always gone down the road of minimal advertising spend so I do it other ways.

Oh yes, sad fact but so very true.

No… It don’t work like that as per Gooooooogle Adwords, that would demolish internet advertising if that were the case!
Not sure how it works, but competitors might get one click outa me, but that’s it!

I hope Lee’s right. We could all spend a little time each day clicking on the competitors we don’t like and raising their advertising costs to the point where they have to give up. 😈
But maybe the clicks have to each come from a different computer? Why? I can’t imagine the advertising providers would be fussy about where the clicks are coming from as long as they’re getting paid.

Dudes…
Gooooooogle, Facebook, Yahoo and the other few GIANTS of internet advertising are not as daft as to let us sit here clicking links all night to raise costs! They know if it was that easy to do, they’d not get the ads in the first place!
When you click once, you can then click a thousand times & it will not affect Mr Advertisers budget! I DON’T know ‘Exactly’ how it works, but they know where EVERY click comes from!

Maybe I’ll just keep to ringing them and book phantom calls. 😀 😀 😀
An E bay seller recently got caught, sent to court for bidding on his own product to increase the amount so that other bidders would increase there bids.
Size doesn’t always matter and I’m sure he is one of thousands doing it and E bay only prosecuted one so that it looks as if there trying to stop it happening.
Not that google would ever be so dirty. :rolls:

I dunno Ally TBH, but don’t really care either! Goooooogle does me ok (Even though I dont show all the time), but I’ll fix that with kwatt after a few JD & Cokes as per his post in PIMP MY LINK 😉
It’s only day 2 on Facebook Ads… I’ve had 82,456 Impressions and 22 ‘Likes’. That’s 22 people that have LOOKED at the ad and added it to their profile. That has cost me less that a pack of cigs… So not moaning just yet!

Had to put a machine right after another local engineer had taken a customers motor off for testing and not returned it for 2 weeks.
When I checked it the motor just needed carbons and away it went.
Anyway she got started going on about how she was going to tear him apart on facebook and make sure everyone she knew would know how EVIL 👿 a man he was!
So maybe facebook is a double edged sword as even the best of us won’t get along with every customer.
I agree with Martin. every minute invested in SEO on your current website is money in the bank.
