    Hi,

I live in rented accommodation in Spain and the landlady says that the washing machine is only 4 years old. I doubt this is true as it is rusting at the edges but I am a foreigner in a foreign country and I think they are taking me for a ride. Can you tell me how old this model is, please? The washing machine drum became loose some time ago & made a horrific noise during a cycle and water is held in the drum too. My clothes come out soaking and I have to wring the water out. The inside of the machine smells really old and musty too. My clothes come out with black stains on them and they smell off. I suppose it must be the water it is keeping in the drum that is smelling off.

Then last weekend was the shock of my life. My flat got flooded by the blasted machine. I was too scared to call a repair man straightaway because I really don’t want to be landed with a huge bill. How serious is the problem? Can it be fixed? Is it as huge as it looks? Do I need a new washer or can this be repaired? I have to pay for small repairs in the flat, anything up to € 131. Any ideas of how much it could cost or is it not worth it to get fixed?

I would be grateful for any help you can give me.

    Many thanks

    Mo

    Mo,

I reckon the machine is somewhat older than stated. It would be unwise to continue using this machine or pay for repairs to it. Time for a new machine and argue amongst yourselves as to who pays for it!! 😕
