Regarding a ELECTROLUX EOB 944, built in electric fan oven.
It trips out ONLY the maIn house master RCB ( Just this one RCB ) when – 1. the oven is hot. 2. the Oven / Grill / light control knob is turned to any setting excluding off.
It is not the fan heater element , I have replaced this .
While changing this element , I ran the oven when cold without the new element , the grill worked , the oven fan worked , the oven light worked , I kept moving the controls inc the temperature knob and it did not trip out.
The clock is all working fine and not causing any problems at all. I have removed and checked and cleaned the switch mechanism that controls the fan oven , grill and light , there was no sign of damage on it, all visible wiring seems normal.
I fitted the new fan heating element , turned the cold oven, on let it heat up and turned the oven / grill / light knob to off and then to light on – and it again blew the single main house RCB ( no other RCB has been affected ).
It seems once the fan heater heats up the oven , then moving the Fan oven / grill/ light knob blows the RCB..
Has anyone has this sort of problem before.

its most likely an element. don’t know which unit you have as there are 16 models with the model number EOB944

I looked one up at random and there was 3 elements in that one

Thanks for your prompt reply .
This fan oven has 2 elements only , one for the fan oven the other for the grill., the grill element works fine , the fan oven element is a new one installed today by me ..In-fact it has been a waste of money as the old one had nothing wrong with it and worked exactly the same as this new one.
From cold the fan oven works perfectly , once its hot then switching the oven off ( with its Oven / Grill ? light knob ) and then immediately switching the light on or moving this knob to any position and the Main single house RCB trips ( the other RCBs do not trip), but the main one cuts off all electric. .
So the fan oven element works and heats the oven up .

Hopefully someone will have had the same relatively common problem, and instead junking the oven managed to fix it by finding the cause, there being only so much that can go wrong .

look round the door and give me the full pnc number of your unit

eg the one I looked up was 948900285 00
