    Hello Each

I’ve just fitted an oven element to my homark fan oven.

Despite being sold as suitable for my exact model the element did not fit correctly (`pattern` part etc)

One mouting hole didn’t line up nor did the 2 of the element support holes (with the little metal clips).

I got one screw in through a metal clip but the other 2 were out of line etc.

Does anyone agree with my thoughts between the 2 lines >>>:

Hot spots are likely to be produced around the 2 metal clips that are not screwed into the back panel etc? The hot spots are likely to lead to premature failure?

I’am considering drilling through the back panel (after checking for obstructions etc) to make 2 new mouting holes to line up with the metal support clips etc.

    Any comments appreciated.

    Many Thanks
    Graham

    Unlikely.

We often have to adjust the mounting of elements to make them fit, even the supposed pukka ones. :rolls:
