Thanks for your reply and help. Really appreciate it. I Read the Indesit fault codes via link you sent me! Am I right in assuming that my Belling SGE12x W/D is identical to an Indesit 12x w/D and will fault codes then be same?
If so then 3 flashes = NTC faultCan you based on your knowledge and experience understand how this would tie in the original symptoms …….
it was finishing the 30 deg C wash cycle, in the final fast spin before finishing and we suddenly heard a loud bang. Luckily as it was very near end of final spin the drum had already drained and we could just turn off then open door and take out the washing.
Had a quick look and set it empty just to spin cycle on the dial, started up ok drum turning at slow speed/low gear, then just trips and does not accelerate and the dial just starts turning also GET 3 Flashes on red light. How can this relate to thermistor problem?
Thanks for your time, from a fellow Lancashire lad from Blackpool.

TBH it sounds as though your machine is cream crackered.
No idea about a Belling but SGE12X is listed in my parts software as a New World?
The Indesit machines are not renowned for quality, the ntc is located in the back panel of the outer drum. The loud bang and tripping suggests that possibly the drum support has fractured allowing the inner drum to hit either the heater or the ntc. does the inner drum feel loose?

Thanks iadom,
yes, I think the inner drum could be bit looser than what I remember but still turns manually, or slowly if put in spin cycle but then trips before speeding up. If drum support has fractured is that still repairable? If parts would be expensive, Would it be worth trying one of the fixed-fee repairers such as repaircare?November 21, 2013 at 10:10 pm #404983iadom

Get rid of it, totally sealed drum, not worth fixing TBH. £150 plus for parts and a major repair task.
Repaircare should be avoided like the plague, if they come out you will be charged a considerable sum for them to tell you it is BER.
