KeymasterJohn came up with a brill idea the other day to produce a “Fault Code Bible” for use by UKW peeps and so he was duly tasked with collating the info. The poor little lamb I hear you cry. π
Anyways here’s the idea…
We make this definitive (well as definitive as we can make it) guide available to all the subs FOC in electronic format. There will be restrictions on it though, like you won’t be able to print it, you’ll get why in a bit.
We will print it here and send out at a cost. We’ll cover the cost to produce the booklet etc. and place a proportion of the cash into the UKW subs fund.
(Speaking of which we forgot to have a conversation about that on Saturday past and it’s about time we raised that debate again.)
As well as that we offer to sell it to the general trade forum, who don’t give anything to UKW presently, to also boost the subs fund.
If you didn’t attend the meeting the other day then you will not be aware that the site is going to change soon, I don’t have an exact date as yet and that we will lose the Google ads that currently pay into the subs fund. This revenue adds, IIRC, about Β£1500-2000 per year to the pot which I graciously let go. :snigger:
My hope is that this offers an alternative way of boosting that pot of money, although quite what we’re going to do with it I have no idea as yet… over to you guys on that one.

Great news at last as to a really constructive way of using our subs fund. In fact I will go so far as to say I think it’s a brilliant idea and will overcome the copywrite issue I suppose to some extent at least. π
I take it the information contained within its pages will be over and above what is already in the error codes thread? Possibly including test procedures and interrogation codes?
Just a thought on producing a booklet for it….leave a few blank pages at the back so additions can be inserted by recipients manually?

Good idea too! I fork out of my own pocket to give my colleagues on UKW the info I have access to, so why not charge I say?

Within the Fault Codes thread there is a distinct lack of BSH error codes? That’s perhaps because BSH machines do not have standard and clearly defined error warnings or fault codes throughout their many machines.
However it would be nice if someone (within our midst π ) could look up the most common error codes and flashing light signals so that they could be added to The Bible ….please? π

KeymasterYes. However it has turned into a bigger chore than was first imagined when I last dared mention it to John. π
It is still in progress though but I didn’t realise that we started this so long ago. π

Greg, if you could just scan through the various models that perhaps contain common fault codes? I guess that the later machines probably do don’t they?
Cheers!

This was addressed in PM with John way way back in October when I posted that comment.
The answer is still no and would get confusing as some models may display the same code but will mean something completely different, thus causing confusion and time wastingRegards!
