Went to mad woman today, clothes comming out hot and had the machine two and a half years. A Candy G014780. Plumbed in to hot water from combi. Changed it over to cold, tested and out the door. She just rang to say the machine stops and the stain removal button and the 90 degree lights flash. Checked through the known error codes but not having any luck. Anyone out there with any ideas although I’m sure the water change over is nothing to do with it. Classic though ‘was alright before you touched it’ Bless her.

Bless her indeed but that model number don’t compute anyway. Can you double check for us and best give the 8 digit product code beginning 3???????:D

Count the number of flashes then refer to normal Hoover/Candy fault codes. The model will be a GO147.

    Re: Fault code for Candy?

Went back to the ‘madwoman’ re the machine now not working and the light is flashing. Checked on three different lists of Hoover/Candy fault codes which all point to NTC. Explained all of this to her. (One fault code said possibly heater but that checks out) She now insists that it’s my fault as it was o.k. before I tampered with it. All I did yesterday, with the information from her that the clothes were coming out hot, was to put the machine on a rinse program. With that the combi boiler fired up, I opened the soap drawer and felt the water and it was hot. Pulled the machine out, cold fill only, and it was connected to the hot water supply. I changed this over with the cold supply (both valves had blue levers on them.) Quick run test on rinse and now obviously cold filling. Charged her £30.00, gave her a receipt and left.
Point is if I thought I was 1 {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} to blame then I would gladly reimburse her so I didn’t. Now all sorts of cr@p is hitting the fan. What do you think I should?

    Hold up just a second!

“light is flashing”……My question: what led’s are flashing? Usually two led’s flash together and counting the flashes (repeats every 15 seconds in fact) gives the vital error code?

So, tell us, how many flashes does your mad woman’s machine show? 😀

An NTC fault should show 5 flashes by the way. 😉

    Re: Fault code for Candy?

A thought occurred to me. Maybe it’s one of those clever boards which remembers the temperature of previous wash(es) and when it finds a significant difference (as it would with the water coming in cold) throws up a fault. (Hence NTC). I’m sure there’s a way round this but I ain’t sure what it is 😕 .

sorry for the delay, just got back from Malta (don’t ask) Yes the machine does flash 5 times hence the NTC error code. Interesting about the last temperature comparrison, don’t know how you get by that. Mad woman on answerphone wanting to know what I’m doing about breaking her machine, I said I’d get back to her.

    tell her get lost

its another fault , simple as

if it was ok before you went, why did she call you?

shes wrong in any event, is it worth all the hassle for £30

    Re: Fault code for Candy?

Go back,(when you’ve got nothing better to do) change the hose back to hot fill only. See if machine then works again. If so, explain to mad woman about how pcb is too intelligent and if she wants the washing to finish cool, she”ll have to have a new board. If still getting five flashes, change ntc and charge for second fault. (Best put it all in writing.)

One of those ‘can’t please all the people’ situations I suppose. I’ll just give her her money back and tell her there’s nothing more I can do for her. Not worth the blood pressure.
    Thanks you guys.
