ParticipantHi there – first time here so be gentle with me. Integratred appliance is refusing to run and has FA Code in the window. It will be cleared and I restart but it starts bleeping again and showing same code. Any idea what casing this please? Secondly, if we need to get to base to drain water out etc, guess we need to remove door? How easy if this to do (ie is it simply screws and manpower to lift door) or is it a bit risky removing it and not being able to reinstall???? For an amateur 😀
Cheers in advance.

incidentally, I have found out that to remove door you need to slacken screws 2 and 4 on it and lift up and off – but my partner is reluctant to try this and end up losing brackets cos we may over losen the screws. Manual says two turns only on screws – did this with no success – SURELY IT depends on how tight they were screwed from start???? (sorry for caps).
hope someone can help us!

2nd and 4th screw remove them you have 2 brackets attached to door 1 each side then push door down . screws tighten a golded bracket that grips the white plastic that is on your doors and 2 metal hooks at top depending how your builders have done it. you don,t need door of to get in to base from front tho it does make it easyer

You off on one, Karv? 😀
FA is a fault detected with the Optical Water Indicator. Which is nice, because this machine hasn’t got one……. Basically it’s a fill level control issue. Two possibilities – the Water Indicator in the sump isn’t working properly is the first one. Remove all the filters and look into the sump. There is a black grid at about the 3 o’clock position. This has a bad habit of filling up with muck and goo and preventing the rubber diaphragm behind from moving. You can often see the white fat deposits in the grid. An attack with a toothbrush and very hot water will often clear it. Secondly is the flow meter. This is in the water matrix located under the left hand side panel. Poor contacts at the little pcb are common. Often a good clean and a pinch of the connector will solve the problem. Bear in mind though that each of these individual problems should bring up their own fault codes – it is possible (though not often) that the computer has lost the plot.
No easy solution – stay safe and make sure that the power is off if you intend to do this yourself.

thanks so much to both of you for your replies. I tried the cleaning of the black grid first as this seemed easiest and hey presto – so far – have been able to run a full wash and a pre rinse program (tried to both to ensure not fluke!) and they are completing – previously they just stopped and alarmed again with same fault.
Cheers for your time – fantastic – saved a call out and a potentially large bill for a simple job (fingers crossed!)
If I get another prob I know where to come
Thanks 😀
