Faulty Hotpoint Lam Brushes

Is anyone else receiving bad brushes again?, I have orderded off three different wholesalers and they are all sending out bad brushes (not “ground” correctly, only over 7/8 of the face) bit of a begger to bed in.

I was on the understanding from PartsCentre that Hotpoint took back 100,000 sets last time they recieved complaints , IMO it looks like Hotpiont are “slipping” them out again. 😥

Gave up using laminates when they went from the white holders to those translucenty ones. 161460s and a return visit in two years time 😀 .

Some of my customers go through 161460’s in less than than a year! my luck they would wan’t them replaced FOC 😥 😥 😥

ive not had any translucent ones through for ages , i get the white lam ones through, im franchise for them so parts come direct, there probably trying to get rid of the old stock to suppliers. ive been getting used modules through in new boxes so watch out for that one!!

Had the odd white holders fail recently but not in sufficient numbers to cause concern or make me fall back on 161460’s. Only use those on very old, lightly used machines.

In my experience with them, they don’t overheat and go brown, the brush lead never detaches itself from the brush and so far (about 18months since they first came out) I have never had a recall. 8)

Those odd recalls (2 or 3 maybe?- and within my 12mths guarantee that is) I have had by using the genuine brushes (1600474) previously to my regret, fitting CAR64HT’s solved the problem! 😉

I have usually not been a fan of fitting none genuine spares. Several years ago I bought 10 sets of copy brushes, three of the first five sets fitted, melted, I binned the rest. 😥
Standards must have gone up since that episode so I shall try some of the copies again and see what happens, nothing to loose with the crap Hotpoint are supplying 😉 watch this space

hi what is the matter with the genuine hotpoint brushes all you hear is dont use non genuine brushes use the white holder ones from hotpoint now the word is use qualtex copyes i fitted a set of brushes to a hotpoint machine and a day later i got a call to say the machine had stopped washing again when i checked it the brush had come out of it holder has any one had this happen as when i fitted the brushes i had installed them properly and released them and pushed the retaining clip up to 90 degrees does the broad and narrow brush go by the size of the commuinter i ask was there any one at the machine as it seemed funny how the brush could get out you would think the only way that could happen was if the brush was relased and then pushed back in what are your thoughts fasetester 😮 thanks ps what price do you pay for your hotpoint brushes.
