    Servis Quartz 600

    Serial No. 77081

Hi, My first posting on here, hope someone can help.
My machine was working ok until it blew the suppressor. I replaced it, but now the machine will not agitate on the wash cycle. It will rotate the drum when filling with water, but not when the water has reached the shutoff level. The wash cycle timer appears to be ok as you can hear a load being applied at 10 sec. intervals, but the motor is not rotating the drum. If you push the drum pulley whilst you can hear the humming, the motor will then rotate the drum, very occasionally it will rotate the drum without assistance. The clothing distribution with the drum empty, & the spin cycle both work perfectly. The motor has been checked & seems ok, but I’m not sure about the tacho coil. I’ve had a meter on the coil & it shows an open circuit, but if you clamp the meter to the terminals of the coil & spin the motor it gives a low voltage reading. How can that be if the coil has an open circuit? According to my Haynes “Washing Machine Manual” a good tacho coil should usually(?)show a reading of 200-1600 ohms.

Re: Faulty wash cycle on Servis Quartz.

    Hi,

If its any help I have the manual for a Quartz 1000, (same as yours but faster spin) so if you get any error codes eg. F1 – F6 I can tell you what they mean.

BTW I am not an engineer, so I cannot give you any more help.

was it the suppressor that blew or was it a capacitor as it sounds like the capacitor is faulty.
plug out and put haynes manual in the bin i had a look at it it goes into great detail how a pressure switch works who cares if its faulty change it.
