I have whirlpool freezer which spontaneously defrosted this morning.

The pump does not come on even when I turn the thermostat up to max, however when I press the fast freeze button it does kick in.

Is this likely to be a faulty temperature sensor in the freezer and is it possible to repair it oneself. If not is it likely to be economical to get repaired?

    Thanks

More likely it’s a faulty thermostat. Dave should be able to give you a price on this.

Yep, sounds like the thermostat to me as well.

It’s £38.30 inc VAT and delivery.

An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk if you’d like one ordered for a DIY job, power off of course :zap:

If you’re unsure, check repairs@ for an engineer 😀

    Dave.
