Giving you plenty of time to mull this one over but as this is an engineers and manufacturers etc meeting need abit of time to get it put together. Are you all up for 26th Feb 2010 ??

Sorry, constrained on what I can do in Feb next year a little. Heart attack not scheduled until November 2010 so I should be okay for September.

BTW the 26th is now cleared. 🙂

On another note I got hit with a good idea this morning when yapping to John..

John has offered to do some “diffusion” training at the meeting. Basically, how to handle awkward customers both face-to-face and on the phone. This is of course, IMO, a bl00dy brilliant idea and a lot of engineers and reception staff could be doing with it. 😉

OK plug in the 26th Feb and I’ll start trawling for attendee companies. Bryan can you do you thing with the accomodation and meeting room please. Can you make it fairly near an airport please.

I think we’re already booked into the same place again.

TBH, that’s no bad thing as it’s not a bad venue all things considered.

I do note a lack of any response to Adrian’s post on it the other night, there should be some sort of response given. He is also correct when he says that Feb will be on everyone in the blink of an eye.

There is also a shocking amount of work that has to be done to put the meetings together.

So…

I need to know what, if anything, you will be needing me to do and, I need to know pretty soon so I can get my game on for it.

Ian will need to know who to harass about attending. (Sorry Ian but you do have a knack for that ;))

Bryan will need to know, as best we can, how many people are reckoned to be turning up. If you need any presentation work done then I need to know what you want done.

An agenda or theme has to be put together.

All of this, of course, requires to be done yesterday. The fleshing it out bit can be done after the turn of the year, but there are things that need doing in the next couple or three weeks without a doubt.

I’d say you have till Monday to sort it. 😉

I don’t mind doing the MC bit ,Ian and I were talking yesterday re guests .
The agenda depends on whose arms we can twist .
I think we should use the other rooms for the trade tables etc that way people can come in and out as they need .
It doesnt look like th COP will be ratified by then ,I am going to hassle Brian cresswell next week which should give us a rabbit to pull out of the hat .
The one thing that did seem to happen was that there was alot of networking going on which people seemed to enjoy .
Some thoughts
Will John be there ?
Is this one hosted by the WTA or UKW
who do we want there
I am interviewing an engineer next week which looks promising so I should have a bit more time soon

I could arrange for Neil Writing, from PC Control Systems to attend, I know Ken has been working on a Service Management system, so depending on how far that is away really.

I spoke to Neil (off the record) back in September, about the possibility of PCCS giving a discount to WTA members for the software, the outcome was that he would attend, demonstrate and leave information for the guys, a discount is on the table but obviously I didn’t persue it anymore because of what Ken is working on.

It was left at “If we can do anything, give me a call” so it’s up to you?

I’ve used Service Base for 4/5yrs… It is very good, easy to use and very affordabe! Not only that, I’ve had 3 or 4 problems with it within that time, one phonecall to Neil, and the issues were rectified within the hour! Fantastic after sales 😀

Haven’t been to one before so not entirely sure what the protocol is but I will do whatever I can if it makes someones job easier.

Hi all

I have confirmed with the coventry hilton again for the 26th febuary and have got the same room rate of £65 bed & breakfast per room…not per person…so if anyone wants to double up in a twin room it’ll save you monies if thats an option for you.

I have also arranged for a meal during the dinner break for the attendee’s.

I will be posting a link for the booking in the next couple of weeks once the contract has been signed.but his is the hotel and facilities.

Business / Vehicle Insurance is ofton mentioned in the forums.

So I have been in touch with a company Ken put me in touch with who gave me a good deal.

I have asked if they would be able to offer any discounts etc and if they would do a presentation of sorts.

Hope this was ok without checking with the rest of you 😳
