FF72P not working!!

My fridge freezer model Mistral FF72P is approx. 6 years old, and has beenworking fine up until the fridge door was left open over night! We found the fridge at 20 C, the freezer was ok but display showing EA (no feed back from baffle). I left the it running, and it continued alarm, and fridge would not go down below 15C but freezer appeared tobe ok. The following morning we woke to find the freezer up to -5C and compressor not running! After serveral switchs on/off it appeared the freezer was running ok but still no joy with the fridge part, and intermittant EA error! I switched the unit off, purchased a new motorised baffle! On installing the new baffle i had further problems, and still do! On powering the unit up the compressor starts and runs for about 5 mins, the fan in the freezer runs only for a few seconds though. When the compressor stops the defrost heaters turn on! I have checked all 3 thermistors and they appear to be reading correct! I am close to concluding its the controller, but can you tell me what triggers the defrost heater to turn on during normal operation? Do you have any other idea’s as to what could be wrong with the unit? Any advise would be great!

Personally I’d change the evaporator thermistor first before condemning the PCB 😉

Thanks it helps to know how it should work!

I did transpose the two thermistors in the freezer with each other, when I connected the defrost one as the freezer temp one it appeared to show the correct temperature, and the fault remained the same!

Is the controller readily available, where would you recommend I purchase it from?
