Hi, Anyone know what the various error codes are for a Hotpoint FF80A fridge freezer? Mine shows ‘EA’ flashing.

I had the same fault as others have had with a cold freezer and warm fridge. Suspecting the evaporator thermistor I have bypassed the supply for the evaporator fan by linking the terminals of the fan supply permanently to the 240V supply inside the cabinet. When switched on the LCD shows the expected temperatures for a while and then shows ‘EA’. Suspect this is as a result of bypassing the fan supply but can anyone advise what specifically ‘EA’ means?

I know I can’t leave the fan on permanently but it at least allows me to switch the fridge freezer on and off to get a cold fridge while I wait for the new thermistors I’ve ordered.

    Thanks,

    Mark

Martin from memory EA = baffle error – You need to check if the fridge baffle in top area of fridge is working, it also has a thermistor in there I think

Thanks Dales-Electronic, Fridge Baffle is open. Can’t now be sure if this is consistent with the fridge being above its set-point. Any suggestions for why the baffle error might be showing in these circumstances?
