I’m 52, old enough and daft enough to be responsible for what I write. Whilst I accept mentioning CDSL by name there was no explanation, only the suggestion that CDSL are actively working against the trade.Why you edited my post before picking up the phone, who knows other than you. But whats done is done.
Also, why you further posted explanations I don’t know either.
This is not a war(with CDSL) Kenneth, don’t make it one.

There’s no nice way to do this.
I can’t help but try to avoid a confrontation, but it appears that it is inevitable with CDSL at some stage.
As soon as you mention CDSL the floodgates are open as it is the biggest WP around now and lots of people will ask what’s going on. The information would come either as a flood or a trickle and RF will undoubtedly go bonkers when he reads any of it.
CDSL ARE working against the trade, full stop. They ARE working against UKW and I will not allow them to get away with that Scot free. By making the market research thing hard for me to do and also if this letter proves to be correct they started the war by firing the first round, although it could be in reaction to some comments that have been made on the site. However, they were hardly worthy of the response.
I didn’t pick up the phone as I was trying to keep a lid on it and had about 10 minutes between feeding and bathing the kids to make a choice. I made the alterations the best way I saw how.
I know you’re capable and you know what you’re doing but I was a little concerned at the tone as it was fighting talk. The second post only underlined that.
And I’m sorry, but this is a war with CDSL. The minute that they started to work against us it became one whether they want it or not. The honeymoon period is over and the dirt is starting to creep out. Sean has been itching to get a lot of this out and it’s dragging on and on with people whining about CDSL but not saying anything as they are frightened of losing the work.
RF should have contacted me about the market research and asked what it was, not anyone else. He didn’t. He has my number and could easily have picked up the phone to ask. But instead he chose to undermine us in what I consider to be a very under-handed manner. That deserves a response from me, so he has it.
The further explanations are incomplete and I felt that they were required to open the gates and allow CDSL to see that they are being watched and that they do not have carte blanche to do whatever they like on a free ride. They’ve had a free ride with no negative comment for a long time purely due to your situation and nothing else or I’d have been commenting far sooner.
In the end as you say, what’s done is done.

You know, this whole thing has been preying on my mind all night and all of today.
I don’t get where you’re going with it Kev. I can’t see how launching the opening volley was any different to what was added and, in effect, you did kick it off. You didn’t let me know what you had planned or what you were thinking on the matter so I reacted as I saw appropriate at the time.
What worries me above all else is not myself or UKW as we’re pretty insulated from CDSL, but DAR’s position with CDSL. They can’t harm me, Dave or even Sean now, so from our point of view there’s feck all that they can do about any of us kicking off, but you’re a different matter entirely. What I don’t understand is that you have placed yourself in a position where they may well have a go at you just as it’s the only target that they can get to.
On top of the posts last week and the slights before that, you could be considered to be in a precarious position with CDSL. Something I’ve tried to negate with a couple of intimations in those posts and also they formed part of the reason for me making them. Essentially I was trying to diffuse the comments amongst many and divert attention from you, or DAR. Smoke and mirrors basically.
In the end it would all have come out anyway, I’ve just put it into free fall and we’ll see what happens, with any luck others will have the bottle as you have, to stand up and speak out. Somehow I don’t think that they will though.
From my position I’m fookin’ raging with RF, still. He’s being a twat and that’ll be that, he’s got fook all at heart bar his own self-interest and that of possibly Connect and Currys, beyond that he couldn’t give a toss about us. I think that’s been made abundantly clear with his recent actions.
And all this on top of all the other complaints and things that have gone very wrong, I ask you, why should they get away with it? Why shouldn’t I, as I have always done, voice the opinion?
If they didn’t want to have a scrap with their agents they would have addressed the issues and tried to help the network, I haven’t seen any sign of that. On top of which they’ve broken their promise to get the rates up to £40 across the board. So IMHO they can’t be trusted and I will not now trust them at all.
They’re only reaping what they sowed.

Kev no one questions your guts when it comes to leadin from the front you have already prooved this in spades the last time with the mfi debacle. You took the hit and did’nt mouth off when others did’nt support you like they should have.
But on the CDSL row you should construct the ammunition but let those who cant be hurt anymore fire it off fo you. UKW LTD is not totally self sufficent as yet, I dont think we’re far away but we’re not quite there yet.
You have advised others to stand thier ground when they have disputes
and that my friend is all anyone can expect you to do.Your sailing too close to the wind at the moment as regards CDSL we are not looking for martyrs we are looking for good statergy and going public with what we know at this early is questionable.
The most worrying thing is that UKW admin seems to be publicly at odds with one another and just on the launch of our first project this is a bad thing.
Please can we mull things over just a little in the board room or in a conference chat before we launch salvo’s off as we at this level we should be talking with one unified voice.
