Finding the sensor, 9590142 – Liebherr Fridge

Hi, I have a Liebherr “build in” fridge, service number 0977102-05, which has developed an “F2” fault. I bough a new sensor, 9590142 – Liebherr Fridge & Freezer Sensor which arrived today, but can’t work out how to find the original.
I guess it’s behing the plastic panel at the back. I removed the four plastic “screws” but can’t pull the panel away.
Does the fan have to be removed first, or should I just be more forceful in pulling the panel.
Any help or advice gladly accepted.

Hi

The whole appliance will need to be removed from its housing and it is fitted from the rear and then slipped into the holder on the rear panel which yes does need the fan to be removed first.

Luckily, our kitchen fitter lives across the road, so I should be able to get him to help one day.

I just found this in an old post:
“You no longer have to take the sensor back to the pcb/ Module and comes supplied with a connector to join the new sensor to the old sensor wiring.”
The kit that comes with the part does look as though it is used to slice the wires together, so my original question is still valid… is there a secret knack to removing the back panel, and does the fan have to removed first?

hello martin, you should be able to access the evap sensor by un doing the bottom two screws.
pull the evaporator gently forwards and you’ll find the sensor located at the bottom left hand corner.
pull the sensor from it’s location and from the back of the fridge pull the sensor out.
this means, as stated above, that you’ll have to remove the fridge from it’s housing, as the sensor cable that is already in place HAS to be joined on the outside of the cabinet, not the inside.
