    Hi there,

I have a Firenzi (From Magnet Kitchens) washer/dryer FWD1200 (914674012-00). The dial has become very hard to turn and the program often gets stuck then suddenly jumps to the final stages of the cycle. The washing machine appears to be having a tough time of moving the dial round during the program, it makes a continuous clicking sound.

Is there anything I can do or try? Does it sound like an expensive problem to fix?

    Many thanks,
    Joel.

What you have here is the “Trade” version of the Lux EW1200i – a Zanussi machine. If you are lucky, the knob and indicator will simply be gunked up. If you are unlucky, the timer itself will be sticking. To check the former:

With the knob in the “out” position, hold it firmly with one hand whilst rotating the cap on the front anti-clockwise. It may well break, but it’s cheap. With the cap off, the knob can be unscrewed by the small nut, and the indicator can be unclipped from the cam underneath. Clean everything – all components removed and the hole in the control panel where it all fits. It takes surpisingly little grease to render the mechanism virtually inoperable.

If this makes no difference, it’s the programmer itself. Get back to us on that.

    Regards,
