They reported a dead machine, went out no life, lights nothing. Stuck the old module back in (this one only had a spin on wash fault) and away it went. No blow marks on the module. GOing to try my luck with Indesit for a credit as a faulty part (will they want their software back I wonder?? 😆 ) meanwhile, EMW are send me one as a replacement so I can at least passify the customer.

You know what, someone should invent a programmer thats purely mechanical, you could probably have rows of switches running down the side of a shaft with cams on.. hey, you could drive it with a little perm mag motor & it would likely be very reliable.. i’m gonna write to Indesit group to see if they wanna develope such a device.. i mean they MUST be plain embarrased with the reliability of their current devices… :rolls: 😉

Hi, I’ve been bumping into a lot of Indesits lately with board problems. I’ve managed to sell a new machine to everyone luckily. Is it worth my while to buy a card reader and whatever else you need to sort these machines out. I have a whirlpool sam unit and they have decided not to update them. So that 200 sheets down the pan. It sounds like to me I may need to do some training on this. Can anyone give me some sound advice on this issue please?

there is a whole thread on this subject. I THINK its agood idea, assuming they stick with one board then it means less messing about with different boards and if you do get the diagnosis wrong then it can be used again in another model. Having said that, I think the EMW service is excellent as, only having ordered the replacement yesterday afternoon, I already have an up and running machine. Not saying any more….just in case.
Bare in mind that the Hotpoint cookers now also use the programable module and the smart card reder will fit those as well and how many of us have noticed a blank port plug on the tumble driers these days? -
