ParticipantHello, I’ve recently bought my first house and looking for some advice on which fridge/freezer and tumble dryer to get.
I’m leaning towards Bosch but a few salesmen have also suggested Liebherr and Blomberg (I’ve never heard of these brands before and find conflicting reviews about them — Liebherr apparently makes Miele fridge/freezers?)
I want something that’ll last us and my budget for both is ~£1500 max but ideally a grand all in would be super.
I’ve mainly been considering KGN362LDFG and WQG245S9GB by Bosch.
No frost for the fridge/freezer would be good and we run our dryer 3 to 4 times a week.
a heat pump dryer has been most recommended and perhaps one with a self cleaning condenser.
can anyone recommend either a brand and/or model that I can look into? I’m a bit anxious that I’ll make a mistake with these purchases so seeking advice.
a more specific question for the experts – if you had my budget which two appliances would you buy?
many thanks

ModeratorLiebherr is top of the tree for build quality
Blomberg is basically Beko who owns the brand name
Bosch is good and is part of the same group as Neff and Siemans and is good for your dryer as well
will tag our retail guru in as well to see what he can say

ModeratorNothing much to add really 😀
Just bear in mind the heat pump dryers do not get hot like a traditional dryer and do take longer to dry clothes but are more energy efficient. Quite a bit of info on them here at https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/buying-advice/tumble-dryers
As for fridge freezer Dave is spot on.

ParticipantThank you both very much. Do you recommend Blomberg/beko for a dryer? Or should it be avoided?

ModeratorBlomberg / Beko is a good bet in it’s price range. With the Blomberg you get a 5 year warranty you should feel confident of the product.

ParticipantCongrats on the new place! With your budget and needs, Bosch is a safe, long‑lasting choice; Liebherr is premium for cooling (they build many Miele fridges), and Blomberg is Beko’s sister brand with strong value/warranties.
What you’d buy:
- Bosch KGN362LDFG (60 cm NoFrost) + Bosch WQG245S9GB (9 kg heat‑pump, self‑cleaning condenser). Efficient, quiet, ideal for 3–4 dries/week. Often ~£1.2–£1.4k on promo.
- If you want a premium fridge feel: Liebherr 60 cm NoFrost tall + Bosch WQG245S9GB.
- Need to hit ~£1k: look at a Blomberg frost‑free 60 cm + Blomberg 8–9 kg heat‑pump (often 3‑yr guarantee).
