ParticipantHello all,
I have just had some F&P dishwashers passed to me. They have been handed to me as the other Engineers that cover my area don’t want the calls.
So Muggins here is trying to sort them.
1 x DD603H – Top Drawer not working (dead) reading through the posts, could it be a heater?, if so which one?.
1 x DD603H The top drawer does not activate the lock. You have push the top drawer in firmly, hold it in and then press the start button. Then the drawer lock mechanism kicks in.
This one is a real pain. Belongs to the Sister-In-Law of one of the blokes who designed it (so she tells me). She has been on complaining and wanting it fixed like yesterday. But at least it works.
1 x A built in single drawer. I don’t have this model number to hand. This one is noisy but washes. Again, reading through the forum, this could be the wash motor?.
If any of you could point me in the right directions please.
Any help or tips appreciated.

the top drawer dead one will probably be a heater plate, when you look at the heater you will either see part of it blown or the thermal in line fuse will be bent and shorting against the tracks.
The one with the drawer that doesn’t close will be a link arm problem, if it has the white plastic rod running parallel to the harness make sure it is not broken, if it has the new style metal arm then it has probably been fitted wrong, to confirm check the harness and hoses on the other drawer and make sure the top harness/hoses are fitted and twist the same way, if not disconnect the harness, fill hose and waste hose from the tub, take of the three clips that hold the harness together and then rebuild as per the other drawer.
on the noisy one it will be either a foreign object hitting the rotor motor or the rotor motor will be knackered, check the blades on the bottom of the rotor motor for damage at the edges, if damaged it will be off balance and will be noisy.
When you take a drawer out from one of these you have to turn it upside down to access the heater,if you turn it clockwise to work on it make sure that you turn anticlockwise when reassembling or the hoses will kink and the drawer will not close.

Hello John,
Thanks for the quick response.
Very much appreciated. I am not sure about the link arm, but Connect are sending me some diagrams over, so I will look at them.
I don’t normally deal with these (don’t even like doing dishwashers). But these three have landed with me as it seems some other engineers in the area are cherry picking. I am a bit like a dog with a bone. So I will do my best to get them fixed.
Just a bit of a pain when you have customers constantly chasing like it were a kidney dialysis machine that had failed!.
Thanks again.

Thanks very much for all you help John.
The Open Circuit Heater, I replaced that (was blown thermal fuse section). Still dead.
The Link arm I have on for tomorrow. Is there just one link arm on a double drawer?
I found this video helpful as I went through the instructions it was a bit confusing.

Thanks once again.
