ParticipantI am new to this board please excuse for any mistakes etc.
I have a ~10yr old Fisher and Paykel 703
I have followed the instructions to get it into diagnostic mode –
ie. Hold “Wash Temp Down”, then press “Power”. Wait for the two short “beeps”, Toggle the “Spin” buttons until “Hold” and “Slow Spin” lamps are lit.
If there is a fault, it will now be displayed on the wash lamps across the top of the control panel. To read any code displayed, start at the right and note which lamps are lit. It’s a binary code; ie : 1+2+4+8+16+32+64+128. Add up the ones which are lit to give the last fault code.
Unfortunately when I hold “Wash temp down” and then press “Power” (switching the machine on) all the lights on the panel light up for about 5 seconds, there are no beeps, and then the machine just displays the high and low water level lamps and nothing else.If I then select the spin speeds “Hold” and “Slow” it shows the first and fourth light from the right(10010000 assuming this means error code 9) am I doing something wrong?
when I do this and then power off again, the 5 left lights in the top wash section went on even though the machine was off.
I have noticed that whens I try to goto diag mode, if I then hit hot or cold water again, it pours water into my machine (hot or cold) – similarly if i hit spin the red spin light comes on.
The actual problem I have is that when I put the clothes and detergent into the machine, power on and select the wash I want (say regular) – all the lights are displaying as usual but nothing happens when I press start – other than the leftmost wash light stopping blinking, but the machine doesnt start. The machine was doing this a few weeks ago and then for no apparent reason started working fine again – now its stopped working again and I can’t get it go.
I have replaced cold water inlet valve (do not use hot water cycles). The machine is still not working I have searched for error code 9 (hope its the right one) but not had any luck other than out of balance and lid open switches.
I would appreciate any help on this, and sorry for being a pain if this topic has been covered

9 is the Size Error. Has the display board been disturbed recently? The switch itself may be damp through condensation, the display board itself may have developed a fault.
You could try resetting the motor controller for size. Hold down “Start”, the press “Power”. Let go and switch off – might do the trick.

Hi thank you for your fast reply!! I have tried to reset like you mentioned “Hold down “Start”, the press “Power”. Let go and switch off”but still get error code 9.
Anny sugestions on how to clear that. If I have a lid switch problem & fixed that would machine still work with error code 9 if I cannot reset it?
Thank you again for your help. -
