I have a Fisher and Paykel top loading washing machine (model:GW709AU), which when powered on after a few seconds beeps and flashes with the following leds (L-R) 00110010.
This first occurred when it was left with the lid open.

Running the diagnostics as noted in this forum (wash temp down, power on, then spin to hold and slow), shows 00000000.

Can you please help on the error diagnosis?
    Thanks,
    mkjosel.

Curious – if this came up on the diagnostics, it would suggest that there is a problem in the motor braking circuit. However, your diagnostics come up as “0”, which suggests that there isn’t a problem at all!

Suggest that you try and eliminate the basics first – lid switch and out of balance switch seem to cause the most problems at start up. Both suffer from corrosion/damp/mechanical failure problems.

Sorry to be a bit vague,

    Faulty solenoid valve or unplugged

This is only reference material for those who wish to read it..

If it’s fault code 50 (00110010) this is a failure if the hot water valve or related drive circuitry in the motor control unit. This fault code can activate in the diagnostic mode on phase 5 units (also applies on phase 6 & 7 units). This is due to how the water valve is controlled and doesn’t work the same way as phase 1-4 units.

My bet is that it’s a faulty motor control unit.

Something to try in this situation is disconnect the cold valve and check the the fault changes to 49 (00110001). This should indicate that the motor control module can pick a state change.

Also discovered that a faulty temp thermistor causes this, maybe its missing or unplugged
