Hi, seems I am not having a good week in my kitchen. First the fridge, now the dishwasher. I have got the ‘flood alarm’ up on this thing and i’m told that an engineer needs to look at it. Is it not possible for me to fix this myself? I am an engineer by trade so with the possibility of someones help from here, i could save my self some money.
    Hope you can help.
    many thanks,
    michael

Flood alarm means that the undertray of one of the drawers has flooded. Power off, drain undertray, find leak. You’ve never seen anything engineered quite like these.

Many thanks. Is it possible to investigate myself do you think or would i need specialist tools?

Nothing particulary special – set of Torx bits might be handy. Plenty of patience, as it’s all got to come out (bet the kitchen fitters put it on short hoses 😀 ), is probably your best weapon!

    Good luck,

I’m gonna have a go at this myself. i fitted the kitchen and all the appliances so I know how it all comes out. i might even do a step by step diary as i pull it to bits. Am I right in thinking tha the leak is most likely to be an ‘o’ ring seal or a part I would need to order? Thanks again and i’ll let you know how I get on. Oh, one other thing, does it reset automatically or do you need something to reset the alarm?

    Cheers.

Providing the undertray is drained, the electronics should reset by themselves. Leak could be from just about anywhere I’m afraid – look for the white soap tracks….
