Moderatorhave a customer with a F&P dishdraw DD602 ( I think)
original fault was F2 (motor not turning) turned out to be chewing gum in the rotor
now when i run it it fills and times out after overfillingcant see and pressure switches, flow meters or anything like that
I am thinking they use the motor current to sense water and if thats true the stalled motor has cooked the boardcan anyone confirm this or has any tech info to help

It will be either the rotor or the hall sensor. Try swapping the rotor from the faulty drawer with the other one, if it works then you have a faulty rotor motor. If it still overfills then check out the hall sensor which is clipped to the housing below the rotor.

cheers for reply John
already swopped rotors both units seem to have different rotors
the main difference is the pump unit at the base of the rotor. faulty one had soft rubber impellor working one had hard plastic impellor. i found the faulty unit seemed to pump out a lot better with the hard blades.
since both units are the same is this soft blade type a mod or is the wrong type fitted?will try hall sensor just seems weird that it only failed when the rotor got jammed with gum
Thanks

It should be the same rotor motor in both drawers but there is an early version that has a hard plastic impeller on the bottom and the later version has rubber blades. If the rotor has been changed it is possible that the wrong one was fitted, the picture below is of a rotor for the newer models, this one will fit into the older models but will not work. The difference between the old and new is the protruding part on the grey plastic at just after 12 oclock. On yours it should not have this raised part as it is built into the base of the hole that the rotor fits into.
It is possible that the hall sensor has been dislodged which would also cause this fault. Also look at the hall sensor for signs of water leaking onto the edge connector, once again you can swap it out with the one that you know is working to prove if it is faulty.
Are you testing the appliance with the spray arm in place?? if not this can also cause an F2 fault.

thanks m8 yes spray arm in place and yes my case has the block moulded in the casing. will post the correct model and serial if you can confirm correct rotor number but from what your saying sounds like someone else has got it wrong. the only prob for me at the moment is i left the rubber one in the working unit let hope it keeps going till i can get back

Check the spray arm ,there is a small flap in it which it uses to sense water level ,if it missing or displaced that could well be the problem
