Can anybody please tell me what error code 62 is on a Fisher and paykel Intuitive IW709 ??

It seems to be related to the pump for the bowl (it stops when the bowl is full) and I have removed it and cleaned it to no avail ..

any help would be appreciated ..

    thanks chris

62 doesn’t appear to be a valid code. Hang fire, Alexa should be back any time now and will be able to advise you further.

Fault code 62 is an excessive pump current

The pump should measure approxiametely 33 ohms when cold, 40 ohms when hot, and open circuit when too hot.

The pump has a thermal overload that opens the pump circuit and subsequently turns the machine off when the pump overheats

It could be caused by a blockage and checking that the flow out of the hose gives a solid 1″ stream of water when your F&P pump is running is an indication that it is not blocked

If the flow is OK then feel the pump after running it for about 2 minutes (after the power is turned off)

A hot pump is the sign of a very common problem with F&P and you should cease use of the machine as it is used as part of your machines power supply and can cause major repairs if left to short out.

Replace the pump is the only possible repair if overheating

If this doesn’t help then post your email address or fax No. and I’ll send your more info dependant upon your response
