We have a new Fisher and Paykel RX611DUX American style fridge freezer as of a few months ago, supplied by John Lewis. We’re very happy with it aside from one problem: the outlet for the ice dispenser frosts up very quickly and completely so that ice cannot be dispensed. Behind the outlet the freezer makes lots of nice ice cubes, and we can pull the whole ice unit out to get at them, but we can’t dispense them because the outlet is blocked up with frost.
We have twice tried taking out the ice unit to thaw and dry completely before putting it back in for another go. The first time we turned the ice back on immediately, and the second time we waited a few hours so that the ice unit would be cold first, but neither try did any good — within a day the outlet was completely frosted up again.
