KeymasterJust replaced a leaking drain hose on my fisher and paykel 051 washing machine and now it’s not working, power it on and all the lights come on, if I wait a little while the top spin light goes from left to right, surely this is just a re-set condition or somthing, nothing has been touched except for the top comming off, and the hose replaced 😳
how do I reset/get the error codes out of it

To reset Press and Hold the Start Pause button then press the Power button.

Thanks for the reply, I haven’t recieved e-mail as yet, but I pressed the reset and the comes up with water temp adjustable, and spin speed adjustable, but no water height light, no start, so maybe I did stuff something.
I’ll wait for your e-mail
Thanks

I think maybe the control unit or somthing else important is stuffed, it doesn’t respond to much, I explained in further detail in a e-mail

Thanks very much for that, I tried the diag mode and it won’t do it for some reason, it just acts like I pressed the power button by itself, I tried it many times, trying how I did it, and using diffrent buttons etc, when you turn it on, all lights come on, then after about 5 seconds, it just goes left to right with the lights for the stage of the spin cycle.
If I press the reset that works, but I can’t press most buttons, I can adjust the water temp, and the spin speed, the water level lights are blank, and I can’t access the fast spin speed but the other speeds work and can go up and down, if I press power it turns off, and advance it does nothing, every other button (ie spin cycles and water level just beep 3 times quickly when pressed)
I read through the instructions a few times also, and I’m sure I’m doing it right, for a stage 3 diag (mw051)
maybe it’s the control unit???? any idea what a control unit is worth, just trying to work out if it’s worth trying to get it fixed or not..
Regards

ParticipantSounds like you may have got water on the electronics from the leaking hose as all of these conditions are not normal.
I’d be running a heater on the electronics whilst unplugged to dry them out and then trying again.
The most likely replacement would be the top (display) module at approx $150 plus installation.
I’m at a loss to understand how you replaced the hose only from the top.
Have you replaced with a genuine hose?
Make sure you get the EXACT replacement module.
F&P on 1300 650 590 (24hrs) will send you a module. (99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} are reconditioned)

Tried that, pulled all the boards out, there is some long term corroson on one corner of the control panel, the other bit looks ok, but still having dramas, I Think I’m going to get a new washing machine, it’s just under 10 years old now
Thanks for your help I really appreciate it

ParticipantElectronics, moisture and a constant voltage (albeit low voltage) causes corrosion of these boards.
A stiff nylon brush where the corrosion is and a spray with a WD40 style product (I prefer Inox) can resurrect the board.
The trick with any electronic board in a damp situation is:
1/. Turn off at the wall after each use
2/. Avoid steam.
3/. Fit a surge divertor as used on computer power plugs
4/. Ensure touch pad is not cracked
5/. Heat the room if condensation (steam) is likely to occur
