The top drawer on our 10+ year old dishwasher will not start and goes straight to red light and beeping. Tried resetting and switching off the mains for a while but this doesn’t remedy the issue. Having finally managed to get a hold of a manual and the fault section I can determine that the fault code derived from the flashing lights after it fails is F5 which is described as a possible lid fault. The suggested response is to turn off and on which doesn’t work or call the service centre. Anyone out there know what the Lid Fault might be(seeing it doesn’t have a lid so I am curious) and how I can access any of the controls or sensors? Are they contained behind the front of the integrated drawer door which I have never taken off. The other drawer works normally. A few years ago we had an issue wit( te( top drawer being stuck on quick wash but it cleared itself eventually and we only use ten quick wash programs now anyway.

from what i can see f5 is a lid problem

    its either
    jammed
    a lid jack problem
    or a board problem

take the draw our and look at the lid. the lid on these units is lowered by 2 motor units after the draw is closed to seal the unit

Thanks for the clues. I have now got it working after removing the drawer, removing the lid which I was unaware we had- (but now I understand why it exists) then removing the lid actuators and guides. I then dismantled and reassembled the motor actuators and refitted everything and much to my delight it is currently working. Did have a search for spare parts on various websites and worryingly our model number didn’t feature and many of the similar numbers/variants had out of stock or unavailable spares.

Meant to add I watched several YouTube videos on all the key elements of this – without which I would have failed.

forget part sites go straight to F & P

they would probably send you parts breakdowns if needed on request
