Rotor position sensor (RPS) problem, down in the motor. Often caused by bad wiring/connections or dampness. RPS itself can be faulty. Occasionally the motor board itself can be faulty.
Thanks Penguin, I’ve pulled it all apart. The wiring to the sensor checks ok with a multimeter.
Can I tell if its the sensor that needs replacing before I buy another one ? Its not obviously cracked or burnt.
Hard one to answer – the F&P guys have an “RPS tester” – what it is and how it works, nobody knows……… Did you get continuity from the computer board end of the loom?
The sensor is p/no 425221P if you want to check out prices.
Thanks again Penguin45 !
I ordered the part and they sent me a 420296P, instead of 425221P. It physically fits and machine seems to work correctly. Is there any possible downside ?
