The top drawer of our machine has started going into fault mode when you try to start the wash cycle. When reset through a power off cycle it is not possible to change the wash program which is currently rapid or rapid eco only. This has happened before and after a strip down of the top drawer and reassembly it started working again. Having just repeated this task it is still going to fault mode. I didn’t see anything obviously broken or failed when I did this.
Spares for the model seem scarce to non existent and sometimes the model number is returned as not found. A new module is circa £300 when found in stock if it is the right one and a pair of actuators is £110. Any clues how I can establish which is likely to be the culprit? The bottom drawer still works so we do have part of a working dishwasher. Doomsday scenario is a new machine which is eye watering cost wise and then I would have to deal with fitting the integrated doors which are bound to need adaptations and not a straight swap. Setting aside my hatred at not being able to fix things which is my starting point always.

Dave- based on the flashing lights on the control panel when you open the drawer after it starts beeping and the red light shows the rapid wash and rinse lights are illuminated. This translates to a lid fault E5 according to the F&P manual.

all you can do for now is remove the draw. check continuity on both lid jacks plus their connections in the box at the rear

I took the drawer out, removed the actuators- dismantled same- checked the motor continuity by looking for voltage(very small reading) when spinning it by hand on my multimeter(I couldn’t get any continuity(beep) when using the ohm setting. Was meticulous in setting both to the same length when refitting and ran the machine empty and it worked. Still won’t change program but I can live with the Rapid wash. I did notice on removal that one of the actuator arms was loose and longer than the other despite me thinking I had checked all that when I did this same exercise the other day. Proof of the pudding will be will it do a full wash and keep doing same. No doubt I will be back if it doesn’t!
