    Hi,
    I have a F&P ED56 tumble dryer.
I know this is not a well known brand in the UK, but I’m hoping its “symptoms” are universal and someone can still help me.
When I start the machine it goes for about 1-3 seconds then stops, beeps once and the start light flashes. There was a clunking noise coming from the front vent/intake fan the first few times I tried turning it on, but this has now stopped and it barely makes one revolution before stopping.

I’ve emptied it and tried it. I’ve turned it off at the switch and turned back on again.

Any ideas what it could be? Someone suggested the capacitor? But the clunking noise makes me think it’s something caught inside the machine. Would this cause the unit to turn on, then turn off within a few seconds?

    Thanks for your help!

I’m not familiar with it but I’d expect that if the machine detected an obstruction such as the fan fell off the motor or suchlike that it’d do exactly that or similar.

    K.
