My Fisher & Paykel GW511 Excellence has suddenly started filling up the tub with cold water. This started as I started a wash cycle in cold a little while back. Observations:
1. Cold Water continues to flow in even if the power is off. I have to turn off the control stopcock to stop it from filling up. I have removed the power cable from the wall and waited for a while and tried to ensure there is no static power interfering with the control.
2. I run the standard diagnostics to find the code as 66 which says (01000010) Phase 6 – Pressure Transducer (Ptx)
Error – Frequency > 90 kHz. The Motor Control Module has received signals from the water level sensor (Ptx) above normal frequency values.
Primary Source: Motor Control Module.
Action: Replace Motor Control Module.
3. However my gut feel suspicion is that the cold water valve has failed as it is not switching off even mechanically even without power. I tried the water valve test by entering the diagnostic mode. The hot water valve responds and you can hear the sound as well. However the cold water valve does not respond in any fashion.
What will be the view/suggestion of the forum members?
Thanks in advance
