ParticipantI have a fault that has occurred with my F&P washing machine. The machine is now 10 years old and has worked flawlessly up until 2 weeks ago.
The symptoms include:
1. Hot or cold solenoids pulsing on/off in a 2 sec state when filling.
2. Drum does not rotate during filling operation
3. Positive pressure on level sensor starts the drain process but does not rotate the drum
4. Drum will move freely by hand. The Australian office has refused to provide the fault codes for this machine. I checked a number of forums and the best advice was to email Fisher & Paykel NZ directly which I have done (waiting for a reply)
Is there a list available for the error codes?
If I got the diagnostic correct there are 15 levels of results that can be viewed. Here are the results:
Diagnostic Step / Result
1 – 0
2 – 0
3 – 131
4 – 20
5 – 250
6 – 32
7 – 127
8 – 15
9 – 250
10 – 33
11 – 255
12 – 0
13 – 33
14 – 70
15 – 20I suspect there may be a problem with the controller board as when I enter demonstration mode (holding advance then power on) when pressing water temp up for 2 seconds tune doesnt play)
Any help greatly appreciated.

Can you run diagnostics as Per Sticky again
Code 131 Is rotor position Sensor (RPS)error
Check for corroded terminals at RPS sensor (Located Under Main outer Bowl with motor)
Check for leaks coming from Shaft Under Bowl
Water can leak from main Shaft onto RPS sensor
Rest of the Codes Mean nothing to meAugust 19, 2008 at 11:59 am #224194grimreaper

guys sound similar to my problem, any help wuould be great..
When I turn the machine on and press start the cold water solenoid turns on for .5 seconds then off for 2 2.5 seconds then on again and off etc repeats for a minute or so then stops and errors.
Is there any test to get the drum spinning in diag and cannot get this to work.August 21, 2008 at 12:22 am #224195Penguin45

No…….
You can operate the valves and pump from diagnostics, not the motor.
Pulsing can be the lid switch, out of balance switch or the valves themselves.
Have a read of the “Sticky” at the top of the forum and see if you can get a code – we can offer a rather more exact pointer from that.
