    Re: Fisher & Paykel GW709au

    Hello!

Trying this again and this morning entirely different result:
LEDs lit(from long wash to spin)11100101
So it’s 229. Even more mistique if I may.
I must fess up I put the lid switch wires together about a year ago, be cause of the problems with the valves – it refused to intake water. Fixed the problem that did. Also it had been working in what seemed to be “selfdestruct” sequence during the spin cycle – sounded like it was priming to go off with a bang, just before it died. So something out of place is likely.
When I was diagnosing it, when I pressed “Advance” once, it didn’t make any meaningful sound – just a single beep. Is this right? I got the LED nubers when slow and hold were lit together.

    Thank You =)

192 is the highest fault code…….

Leave the diagnostics for the moment – check out the noise. Assuming that there is no water leaking onto the floor, the bearings will be intact. I’m tempted to say have a look at the stator and make sure that it hasn’t worked loose – weird things can happen if it does, as well as damage to the windings, wiring and Rotor Position Sensor.

    Hello Penguin45!

I should probably start a column “New Error of the Day”
    Today’s entry would be “00100110”
Always happens on third push up of the spin speed button.

It actually worked today through the whole cycle. Just as yesterday, but it coughed on the way – had to restart several times.

You’re right – no seepage detected. I’ll go with my best guess here. If the stator is the heavy round thing underneath, then I tightened it couple of weeks before the whole ordeal.

Let me know if Im miskaten.
    Thank You!

Big heavy round thing will be the rotor (rotates). The stator (static) is the winding inside the rotor. It can work loose and generate a remarkable amount of noise.

Today’s code means that the computer thinks that the machine is empty whilst it’s washing. Check air hose to pressure switch for kinks, holes etc.

HELP! Fisher & Paykel Excellence Smartdrive GW709AU

I am having a similar problem with mine (Excellence GW709AU). It starts filling up, on and off for about a minute and then just stops & starts beeping continuously. I can then push pause, but nothing more and the board shows a funny sequence of lights – 11010100.

I’ve tried turning it off at the wall, and leaving it a while, but this changes nothing.

I also just tried the test, as mentioned, but LEDS across the top show nothing.

Any help would be great, as I’ve just been informed by Fisher & Paykel that it will cost $110 just to get someone out, with parts on top of that!!
