Have a 5yr 2mth old Fisher & Paykel washing machine, model GW712. Unfortunately it ran out of extended warranty 2mths ago.

Overfills in auto water level mode & fills to correct levels in manual water level mode, then it won’t start agitating and flashes high level as if there is too much water/weight. Assuming there is a fault with either the load/level sensor or the control card.

Pulled panel off, but there’s no diagnostic display screen, so the diagnostic codes off the internet won’t help. F&P apparently won’t release the specs on how to test it eg: 5 amps between blah & blah (trying to relay hubby’s words here).

Any idea how to test which part needs replacing without having to pay the $150 call out fee please?

Hubby said he thought it was either the pressure sensor (water level sensor) that the water level tube attaches to which is mounted to the motor controller card, or the motor controller card itself.
He thought more likely the motor controller card because would assume that if the water level sensor was faulty, it would not fill to correct level in manual mode, but it does.
Doesn’t believe it could be the out of balance sensor switch as when it is manually advanced to spin cycle via the advance button, it empties and spins as it should.

Just bought a new motor controller card & fitted it & it’s doing the same thing. 🙁

    Any ideas PLEASE?

Probably way too late now but my model (GW611) has an Option Adjustment Mode which, among other things, allows you to change the Auto Water Level. And according to my service manual the information is in the “Use and Care Manual”. Maybe this just needs adjustment. Your husband is probably right in that if the manual levels are okay then maybe this readjustment is all that is needed.
