    Hi everybody,

I’m hoping that some kind soul may be able to help me with a diagnosis for my F & P gw712 (with brown control module).

The washer works normally until it gets to rinse, where it fails to spin and the lid lock fails to engage. At this point the lid lock led is blinking and a series of quick beeps is emitted every few seconds. Advancing to spin it has the same problem.

Putting the machine in diagnostic mode (with spin and hold lit), an error code of 00000000 is shown, pump runs ok, cold solenoid flows when triggered, hot solenoid clunks ok (no hot water is connected). Lid lock solenoid measures 65 ohms with lid open or lid closed.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Thanks and best regards,

Bob :rolls: :rolls: :rolls: :rolls: :rolls: :rolls: :rolls:

I think I’ve answered my own question!!

The machine is simply behaving as if the lid is open.

I hear a switch operating when the lid is opened or closed but the resistance of the solenoid circuit doesn’t change.

I’m guessing that theres a switch under there, in series with the solenoid which has gone faulty or been bridged.

Will check it out tomorrow and report back.

    Cheers,

    Bob

Well, the problem is now fixed and the machine is back to normal.

There is no switch involved in the lid lock mechanism, just a solenoid, which was seized and is now freed up and lubricated.

The control board must sense the current through the solenoid to determine if it has engaged or not, in order to tell if the lid is closed.

Hope someone else finds this useful.

    Cheers,

Bob :rolls: :rolls: :rolls: :rolls: :rolls:
