Hi I have a fisher & paykel washer, model is MW051K, and it has the GW051 face on it, so the extra buttons do not work.
My problem is that I also have another machine, a MW053, that is a few more years younger.

1st problem with the MW051, is when I go to the fault code readings, with the spin & hold lights on, there are 2 lights the come on along the wash cycle lights, number 3 & 5 from left to right.
Does this indicate a fault with in the machine?
It seems to wash etc and perform all the usual washer functions.

2nd problem with the MW053, is that when I got it home, I plugged it in etc and it started to full with cold water, then it stopped, not all of a sudden, just like the tap was being turned off slowly. I have checked the fault codes and no lights come on the panel, after turning it off and on several times at the wall, it now seems to be going ok.
Do you think that the solenoid could be faulty, or was it just the out of balance switch, saying it was out of balance because it was moved?

I have just checked the machines in the way they fill with water, I have connected the hot hose on both machines to the cold tap, and used the hot control, the MW051 will only full on hot & warm, the MW053 will fill on all options, hot, warm & cold.
    Now I need some help.

Any help would be much appreciated, as I’m not sure what machine to keep.

    Kindest regards

    Deane.

Re: Fisher & Paykel MW051 FAULT CODE

Do you know, it would have been so much simpler if you’d done this as two posts…………

First machine. Fault code 20……… The computer board knows full well that it’s got the wrong display module attached to it. If it works, leave it alone…. You can try and reset it, but that involve disabling the auto restart facility, re-running diagnostics, getting the new codes answered, correcting the fault, re-initiallising the restart facility, rhubarb, rhubarb, rhubarb.

Second part is confusing. You say that the 51 works properly – therefore it must rinse, which uses cold water only, yet, it will only fill on warm/hot. The cold valve is a “proportional” type valve, so could be faulty……..

    Beyond that, I’m rather confused……
