    Hi guys

Hopefully I have worked this out correctly so far.

My F& P machine stopped working on the spin cycle, all water except about an inch had drained from the machine. I didn’t notice straight away, so when I went into the laundry there was a slight burn smell! 😮

I turned the machine off, checked to see if the spin worked, it did. Started the cycle again from the start, it worked as per normal – except it stopped at the same place again.

So I have followed your super duper diagnostic info, and hope I have come up with error code 43 – 00101011 if I have interpretted it correctly??

I have found by trolling thru the posts that Error code 43 indicates an Out of Balance Switch fault…..?

So where do I go from here?
    1. Have I diagnosed this correctly?
    2. What is the part that I require?
    3. How do I locate where this part goes so when I get it I can replace it?

    many thanks for any assistance
    cheers Juls 😀

43 is correct for the out of balance switch.

Remove top deck (two screws at the back), OOB switch is at the end of the pendulum arm hanging down. Check for switch function and state of wiring etc. Check tub bias spring is attached – if disconnected the switch can be operated on a nuisance basis. Check wiring to lid switch whilst you’re at it.

    HI again

Thanks for the info, I got the OH to check all the things listed, the switch was in good condition and everything else appears fine.

After looking at the Drain pump, I decided to replace that as it was looking a bit worse for wear with corrosion on it.
Replaced it yesterday, and ran a load with no issue at all. HOORAY

Decided to run another load and on checking, it had stopped at the spin cycle full of water. Hadn’t gone into an error code at that stage, however the drain pump was hot to touch. I checked the error code, which came up as 37 – pump fault. I then disconnected the machine and went to bed.
This morning with the pump cooled down it has worked on the spin cycle.

As its a new pump, what else should I be looking at in regards to this error?

Is it pumping out at a good rate? Partial blockage will strangle the flow and cause the pump to run under load for too long. Possible that a sock is lying over the pump hood – inner drum out for access. Faulty pump is possible…….

    HI Penguin45,

The water is pumping out at a good rate (when it does work 😆 ), we pulled the whole machine apart to check for blockages before I purchased the new pump.

I have just run another load through, and it worked, however I did keep checking the temperature of the pump.
When the machine was filling with rinse water it was really hot to touch, and was hot to touch after the completion of the spin cycle.
I don’t know if this is normal or not.
Would this temperature be tripping the pump, or would it be a problem in the control panel?
    cheers Juls

Pump – sounds like you’ve got a wrong ‘un.

Cut-out (TOC) is embedded in the pump winding, and is just a thermal trip. Pump should get warm with normal use, but not hot.

    Take it back……..
