Hi, Last night my washer started beeping constantly, then stopped in a puff of smoke. I switched off at the wall then about a minute later switched it back on. It will wash and fill but as soon as comes to emptying it stalls in a hum sound. Like the pump is trying to work but is blocked. My friend told me the filter might be blocked…. but I can’t seem to find the filter. Any ideas? This machine is about 6 years old, digital smartdrive. Cheers Marc.
The way to deal with the water is to bail (or syphon) out as much as you can. If you’re pretty sure it’s empty, lean the machine back to a good angle, then the pump is a twist fit from underneath. If it’s blocked, you may be able to clear it through the hole. The puff of smoke doesn’t sound good though……
Pull the plug first – the pump is permanently live.
