ParticipantFisher & Paykel mw511 wont agitate or spin, beeps with error 130 I think.
Machine will turn on ok, select a wash and the machine will fill but then when it come tiome to agitate it does nothing, if the agitator is given a little push it does make an attempt to move and the electronic dc drive type sound can be heard but only for a second, then the machine starts the fault beeping, if left to its own devices when the wash is started the machine just does nothing for a few minutes and adventualy starts the fault beeping and the lights on the control panel are as follows left to right: on-off-off-off-off-off-on-off Now from reading Penguin45’s diagnostic post I think this means error 130 although the machine does it on its own I havnt tried the diagnostic yet, I cant find any old posts or info telling me what this error is for so any information would be great.
I am an electritian and as such have a reasonable electrical/machanical understanding so I can do more checking for more info on the machine if required.thanks in advance Keith.

If it is 130, it’s the Rotor Position Sensor (RPS) error. RPS is situated on the motor stator under the drum. Check for physical damage, rust, water and damged wiring.
Alsopossible that the motor control board has a problem.
Run diagnostics as per sticky to double check.

Thanks for the info, I got to pulling the position sensor out last night and found some corrosion damage to the tracks, as I work at a place that does electrical engineering and production I will have a go at repairing the damaged tracks (hopefully the sensors arent fried), otherwise I know of a local place to get a replacement sensor board, I have been told it should be around 40-50 bucks, I hope it is just the position sensor board and not the control board. I will update when I have a result.
Thanks again for the info.
Great site 😉

Good news, my machine is back up and running or more appropriatly spinning.
I repaired the damaged/open circuit track on the rotor possition sensor board and recoated/sealed the water affected area of the board, replaced it last night and away she went with no problems at all, thankfuly the sensors were alright and it was just an open circuit track. It seems to me that this board could stand to have a better coating that will resist moisture and probably more importantly the other corrosive elements found in the sort of environment that it lives. The protective coating or varnish that is applied to boards to protect them from corrosion and contamination was quite thin and easily damaged on this board, I guess everything is built to a price. other than that the machine was great to worl on, simple design, easy to dissasemble/reassemble. My faith in Fisher and Paykel is restored,Thanks to Penguin45 for the info
Also Thanks to Nick at A1 washers in Prospect for his help, I reccomend him to anyone in Adelaide if they get to a point they cant resolve themselves. He also advised me that my problem was probably the rotor possition sensor.

Hi.
I had this problem with my machine as well. Code 56 it was giving me, intermittent, could get around it for a while by quickly flicking the power switch off and on again at the wall, Worked for about 2 months like that then just stopped dead… So I took the RPS board out and it had corroded tracks…
I tried an online seller for the part, cost AU$80, So i decided to have a crack at fixing up the tracks, All I did was get some really thin insulated wire and rewired the whole board, a few small dabs of super glue to hold the fine wires down and about 3 hours of soldering and sweating!!! It works, got a load washing now… If it breaks again Ill have to search a bit harder for a local repair place to get the part at a reasonable price…
Cheers.
