Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive 051 error 17

We were recently given a ‘hand me down’ Fisher & Paykel Smart drive 051. It’s been running fine for about 2 months until just recently we’ve noticed a problem when the machine starts it will start to fill with water and then stop. This will happen multiple times and then it stops and beeps continually. We’ve tried using cold only, hot only or warm with the same result each time.

After running the diagnostic and this was the error:

10001000 – (error 17 I think).

Any suggestions?

136 – motor stall. Computer is trying and failing to run the motor. Dodgy wiring most likely. Continuity through motor may need to be checked if not, Rotor position sensor may be playing up, possibly the computer board itself.

Oh, do the obvious – check the drum is free to turn by hand.
