ParticipantHi all
When I turn on my Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive 058, the LED lights come on, but won’t start cycle when I push Start (It is set on Regular wash). When I push Power button again all of the lights go out except for the first 5 which flash.
After running the diagnostics the code was 00000000
Anyone got any ideas?

Restart is turned off.
Hold down “Temp Down”, then press power. Wait for two beeps. Hold down “advance” and use “water level down” button to set Restart – the “low water” lamp should light. Switch off and you should be ready to go.

Please Help! I have another problem. After a few washes the machine won’t start again.
The normal lights for the Regular wash setting come on but when I push start it won’t start the cycle. I repeated the sequence for turning the restart back on & the machine ran normally again for one wash.
But now I can’t seem to get it to start even after that procedure.
The Diagnostic is still 00000000.November 20, 2006 at 12:50 am #195781bigsmokepiker

Looks likely to be a faulty lid switch(Magnetic Reed Switch)

Does this mean I need to call in a repairman?

P/no is 426457, which is the reed switch and harness. It sits in a plastic clip under the right hand edge of the top deck. Removing deck is the easiest way to access it.

Thank you thank you thank you. I found this post and a few years after the first queries, my machine is chugging away. Fingers crossed it keeps going, but if not, I have good clues to what to do next. Thanks to the solution penguin for such generous replies. Even if it didn’t work, I learned a whole lot about those flashing lights!
Also thank you because I have been bouncing with that great feeling that there are generous and helpful people out there (this was even before I got the error code routine worked out). And you potentially saved a hunk of metal from the landfill.
