Sound like your lid Switch/ Reed Switch
Especially when machine doesnt stop when lid lifted
This Problem can be consistent with intermittently not working
switch is Located under Front RHS of Hob Runs To Motor ControllerFebruary 12, 2007 at 7:47 am #203872Markaus

Thank Bigsmokepiker for your help and input
The lid reed switch assembly was replaced on the 17/2/04 by a mechanic
I have metered the switch many times and has not failed yet
Can I temporally bypass the lid switch to rule out it as a problem??
The “brake ” problem has only happened once.
Having said that, the machine hasn’t failed for a while.
I can now get into the diagnostics:-

What do I do with the Spin buttons??
There are led’s lite on some positions in the spin buttons.
Which of the hold slow med fast and “combinations of” do you want?

I have the same machine and I can’t get the diagnostics instructions on this forum to work either.
The machine was making funny noises during the wash a couple of days ago. Now when I turn it on, all the usual lights come on for the “Normal” cycle, but when I press “Start” (the start button still goes “beep”), nothing happens. The machine doesn’t fill with water.
The other unusual thing is that when I turn the machine on, apart from all the usual lights coming on, the “Delicate” wash cycle light is faintly lit also. This didn’t happen when it was working properly. Weird, huh?
All the other buttons seem to beep and light up when I press them, no problem there. Just can’t get it to start!
