Fisher @Paykel washing machine keeps beeping

F@P Model GW711 excellence. I last used the machine the day before,worked fine. Then (1.)While turned off, it started continual intermittent beeping all by itself with the first and second short wash lights and the spin light lit. If I turn the power on at the wall, all lights flash then it returns to lights as in (1.)If I push any cycle button, beeping stops but no cycle light and I can’t select anything else. If I press the start /pause button the wash progress lights go off and the lid light comes on, press again and nothing happens. If I then press the power button again it goes back to (1.) again. I can’t get the machine to go into diagnostic mode as it wont turn off at power button. Any ideas please!
