Hi Guys, from reading your forums it seems you guys are very knowledgable with Fisher and Paykel Washing machines. so here goes.

Since we moved house the 709 is misbehaving and the symtoms are as
    follows:

Machine does not fill properly, stops at a particular program and does appear to like the soak function. Granted that it was not powered on for about a week.

Is it possible that it’s forgotten it’s program, or has something happened to it during the move ?

I tried the fault code scenario and what I get is this.

from right to left, I get the first light on, off, on, all others off, but what happens then, the 1st light blinks off and the second one comes on, and then alternates between the 1st and 2nd.

I’m not sure how to decipher the code.. Is it codes 5 & 6 ? It’s got me stumped !!!

    Can someone help please ??

    Regards,
    Tom from Australia

Not sure what to make of that, Tom. If you say that the problem lies with the fill, the obvious thing to check (seeing that it’s been moved) is that the drain hose is not pushed way down the outlet pipe – the machine will fill and syphon the water out again. Your flashing lights do not conform to an error code. Did you follow the procedure as outlined in the sticky at the top of the forum?

Turn power off at wall and check for fault code again. Turn power on at the wall……Wait for machine to turn off.
Press and hold wash temp. down… press power button…release both buttons…. all lights come on and then go off.(do not press advance) press spin speed up or down until slow and hold are lit.
Read fault code from RHS to LHS. ie: RH ….00110010….LH zero is off 1 is on. RHS 128…64….32….16…8….4….2…1 LHS
    Add lit LED values together.
