KeymasterReading around the forum posts here I fixed my Error Code 00100101 (164) as follows:
Machine starts beeping incessantly, what’s wrong here?
It has three lights on, and it won’t stop beeping, I find out reading forums that this was the error code. Just as well it’s my RDO.
Bail out all the washing into the laundry sink, going to have to wring them out by hand, damn.
Search my error code by binary and decimal numbers at https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules. … ile=search
Found a dozen snippets of information that give me a idea of what to do.
Get into Diagnostic Mode and try manually operating the drain pump (Regular Wash button), doesn’t work, does hum, well that’s where to aim for (first)…
Unanimous message from forums: Turn Off and Remove Power.
Empty the machine of water by hand, first reach down the centre pipe and unscrewed the plastic wing nut to remove the bowl agitator (even my large arm fit), making bucketing far more easy.
Found an empty 2L milk container the most useful, emptying into a 10L bucket and then using that to water the plants. Then used a hand towel to soak out as much left as possible, I’m the only one home to move this machine, i need it to be empty.
Next turn off and disconnect water lines as you will need to tilt the machine over to get as much water out as possible. Another 5 Litres came out (5kg lighter) .
NB: Before unscrewing the water hoses, turn on the machine as start of wash cycle to release pressure build up within the hoses (do this after turning the taps off)
Moved the washing machine outside the laundry door, it wasn’t heavy for me as I had emptied the bowl almost completely, nor was it any more than 2 metres away.
Placed a mat/towel down to avoid some scratching, and laid it down on the Left-Hand-Side, this gets the pump on the top, and doesn’t have water running into the PLC.
Before removing pump however you need to disconnect the power connector at the back of pump and also the earth clip, then depress the locking lever (plastic arm) and grasping pump assembly by the steel housing turn anti clockwise (after a small distance you can release teh arm). Be sure however to do this with kid gloves as most of the assembly is made of plastic.
Also be aware that there will be some water spillage when the pump comes away from the impeller housing. Not much if the machine is completely on its side.
Found a fine jewelery chain wrapped below the impeller on the axle. House mate will not be impressed, not my fault they let it through the wash though.
Tipped the machine upright, leaving it outside in the sunlight to dry out as much as possible.
Moved it back inside, dumped a bucket of water into it, put the bucket under the drain pipe to recollect it for the plants again.
Gave it a quick test and it seems to work ok, will know more after I let the electrical dry out some more.
Thanks to the collected genius here that have put together this wealth of information, it was the perfect DIY fix up job, and it’s now not even lunch washing might dry yet today.

Well done, ASC.
Fault code is actually 37.
All readers should be aware that if the machine is plugged in, the pump is live, even if the power button is off.
